Overview
What is the SaaS Developer Platform?
The public, version-aware contract for building external apps that connect to merchant stores.
The SaaS Developer Platform is the reviewed extension surface for external apps that serve a merchant store. It combines app registration and version manifests with tenant-bound installations, OAuth scopes, a small public API v1, and webhook subscription infrastructure.
Who it is for
It is for developers building server-side integrations for merchants. Developer identity is separate from merchant team membership and from platform-staff access. An app receives access only after a merchant Owner or Admin installs an exact published version and grants an explicit subset of its requested scopes.
Current public foundation
- Product-list read access through
GET /api/v1/catalog/products. - Order-summary read access through
GET /api/v1/orders. - Webhook subscription list, create, and disable operations.
- Reviewed merchant consent, store-bound authorization codes and rotating tokens behind the release gate.
- Version review, publication, installation, and revocation records.
Status language
CURRENT means the documented public contract exists in current main. PARTIAL means a foundation exists but the end-to-end capability is incomplete or narrower than its name. PLANNED means follow-up work is identified but unavailable. DEFERRED means it is deliberately outside the active public contract.
Availability and changes
Marketplace surfaces are default-off and environment activation is controlled by the platform. Documentation does not activate a feature or grant access. The Developer changelog records public-contract changes under Added, Changed, Deprecated, Removed, and Security without inventing historical releases or delivery dates.
